Why did you choose to study at the University of Bath?
I chose the University of Bath because it is one of the top universities in the UK and it ranks highly in the area I am studying. Also, I like the idea of studying a thick sandwich course with a one-year industry placement.
What do you enjoy most about studying and living here?
The teaching here is good and we have excellent placement officers who are here to help us find placements. In addition, the city of Bath is very nice and peaceful. People here are very friendly, which make me feel very welcome.
Did you find anything in particular difficult when you first arrived?
Not in general because there were quite a lot of people (in blue T-shirts & yellow T-shirts) around helping me out. But I did find it a bit difficult to find the classrooms and read the timetable at the very beginning.
Was there anything that you found particularly useful when settling in?
Keep smiling. I find this is always the best way to settle in to any new places. You know people much easier if you keep smiling and saying hi to all people you meet, because you show people that you are nice and friendly. In turn, it makes you feel home and gets you out of the lonely feelings you may find in a new place.
Can you tell is about any strong memories you have of your time at Bath so far?
I think it was my Freshers Week, when I met most of my Bath friends. I can never forget that absolutely amazing week.
What are your plans for the future?
At the moment, investment banking and headhunting seem most interesting to me.
What advice would you give to other international students thinking about coming to study in the UK?
Join as many societies as you can and make as many friends as you can. Don’t be afraid of losing face. Try all things that are new to you because you never know if you will fall in love with it. Be brave and open-minded. Work hard because time does fly. Always be prepared and don’t let any opportunity slip away. Make sure you make the most out of your time here!
