Peer Review for Staff
This resource offers guidance and example scenarios on a revised method for peer review by staff.
This new approach moves away from peers observing peers and providing feedback on a snap shot of their teaching, to a form which has clear benefits for both parties, and where a clear purpose of the exercise is established in advance. The emphasis of the process is on achieving learning from practice by both peers. The manner in which this is done relates naturally to the full range of teaching, learning support and educational development processes that academic staff are engaged in on a day to day basis.
For a quick understanding of what the new method could do to support your teaching, please have a look at the scenarios provided through the link on the left of this screen.
For more detailed guidance for those participating in peer review, please use the relevant link on the left of the screen.
Heads of Departments, Deans of Schools and others who manage staff in teaching roles, may find it of use to read the guidance written particularly with Heads of Departments in mind. Again, this information is accessible through the link on the left of this screen.
