Quality Assurance Code of Practice
The University of Bath will be recognised as an international centre of research and teaching excellence, achieving global impact through our alumni, research and strategic partnerships. (Our Vision for 2016) |
|---|
We will deliver world class research and teaching, educating our graduates to become future leaders and innovators, and benefiting the wider population through our research, enterprise and influence. (Mission Statement, Corporate Plan, 2009-2014) |
|---|
In order to ensure that the quality of learning and teaching provision supports such excellence, the University’s Quality Assurance Code of Practice is:
- The key reference point that describes the academic processes and principles, roles and responsibilities through which the University develops and implements an effective and efficient quality management framework, assuring itself and external bodies of the quality and standards of its provision;
- One of the channels of communication via which good practice in learning and teaching is encouraged and disseminated.
As part of the University’s commitment to ongoing enhancement of its provision, the Quality Assurance Code of Practice has been the subject of a major review taking place between 2006-2010. The review process continues into 2010/11 on the basis of the following principles:
- Informed by the student body, we will provide a distinctive international learning environment which recognises the prominence of our research, is intellectually challenging and is strongly applied, focusing on the employability of our students’ (Learning and Teaching Strategy);
- improving clarity, usability and accessibility;
- clarifying roles and responsibilities and equipping people to fulfil their roles;
- being appropriately informed by student feedback;
- articulating the pedagogical principles underpinning the University’s quality framework.
If you would like to contribute to this process of review, please contact the Student Learning Experience and Quality team in the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Office, learningandteaching@bath.ac.uk
