Research
The Department is home to one of the country's leading groups of researchers. Research informs theory, policy and practice with respect to five key themes:
- Educational Policy and Globalisation
- Educational Philosophy and Theory
- Sport, Culture and Physical Activity (both within and beyond education)
- Educational Organisation and Change
- Diversity and Difference in Education.
Researchers with a wide range of substantive interests contribute to one or more of these themes; these interests currently include international schools, citizenship education, early childhood, education for sustainability, language in education, educational leadership and governance, sport and social justice, and the relationship of education to work. There is also a strong interest in research methodology.
